To better understand user needs and expectations, I surveyed 20 adults and young adults with varying mobility and tech experience.

85% of respondents said customization options would significantly improve their comfort and connection with a self-driving car.

65% expressed concerns about not feeling in control when using current autonomous vehicles.

70% indicated that accessibility features like voice control and adaptable seating are essential for themselves or someone they know.

90% said they are more likely to trust a self-driving car that allows them to personalize both physical and digital interfaces.

Automobile UI Deconstruction

To explore modern automotive UI design, I visited a dealership to study the 2025 Sierra EV Denali Extended Range. The visit offered insight into its advanced infotainment features.

Strengths:

  • Large, responsive touchscreen with intuitive layout.

  • High-quality materials and spacious cabin.

  • Competitive extended range for long-distance driving.

Weaknesses:

  • Some UI elements require multiple steps to access.

  • Large footprint may be challenging in tight urban areas.

  • Positioned at a premium, limiting accessibility for users.

This analysis focuses on the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Denali Ultimate DRW, evaluating its interface, comfort features, and towing technology.

Strengths:

  • Excellent torque and towing capacity.

  • Luxurious materials and comfort features.

  • Helpful multi-camera and trailering systems.

Weaknesses:

  • Hard to maneuver in tight spaces.

  • Lacks hands-free driving support.

  • Interior still trails some high-end rivals.
